Technically, anybody can be a sponsor. Rs 15,000 or $250 is not a great amount and within the means of most employed or business person. This is a one time payment which will be used as an interest free loan to needy wannabe entrepreneurs. Once the amount is paid back, the same is extended to another needy entrepreneur.
There is always a risk in giving the loan to an entrepreneur, who is unable to pay back at all. Sufficient care is taken in screening to prevent this.
Sponsorship options can be taken up singly or in multiples of:
- One store Sponsor – Rs 15,000
- One Bandi Sponsor – Rs 24,000
- Mini store Sponsor – Rs 1,50,000
LoPryz shares the information openly regarding sponsors and supported entrepreneurs. Anonymous sponsorships are clubbed under one head and reported. Small contributors from SEN are encouraged to consider this as an option to ensure their contributions make a real difference.
Generally, sponsored amounts are non-returnable. However, sponsors can indicate conditions at the time of contribution, which will be adhered to the extent possible and included in the report.
Sponsorship does not cover the cost of premises, and includes part amount for furnishing and stock taking. The entrepreneur or the NGO/ mentor supporting the entrepreneur is expected to teach the entrepreneur to contribute.
